Enough to where the National Weather Service in Duluth (NWS) has placed the counties of Morrison, Crow Wing and Aitkin in a flood warning.
The NWS reports that the Mississippi River near Fort Ripley and Aitkin will continue to rise over the coming days due to excessive rainfall over the last several days. Minor to moderate flooding is expected.
As of 9 a.m. Monday, the water level was 10.4 feet near Fort Ripley. Flood stage is 10 feet. The NWS expects that the river will continue to rise to nearly 12.5 feet by Thursday night and then begin to fall. At 12 feet, the boat landing and parking lot at the public access would be underwater.
Flooding was reported Sunday three miles southeast of Isle in Mille Lacs County at the intersection of Highways 47 and 27. It was reported that 4 to 6 inches of standing water covered roads.
