Fiat Uno Turbo i.e. it was the sporty version of the Fiat Uno, produced from May 1985 to 1994. The project was assigned by the master Giorgetto Giugiaro, the heir to the Uno was the Punto Gt in 1993 after the second series of the Uno Turbo.
The Uno Turbo I.E. it was launched to enter the market for small sports cars, called Hot Hatches, where the Renault 5 GT Turbo, Peugeot 205 GTi, and Golf GTI were present at the time.
In a short time, the small sportswoman from Turin manages to make her place in the category also thanks to the improvements made to the engine of the basic version in terms of fluidity and regularity of operation as well as for the optimization of consumption and emissions. In fact, the engine was equipped with two different control units: one for the Bosch LE-Jetronic Multipoint electronic injection and one for the Magneti Marelli Microplex MED electronic ignition.
The alloy wheels were dedicated to the Turbo I.E .: with a 13-inch size entirely diamond-coated with a 5.5-inch channel, they housed 175/60 ​​tires and hubcaps with the Abarth scorpion logo on a red background.
On the road, the new Fiat sports car has a high road holding, the performances are brilliant (200 km / h, 8.3 seconds in the 0 to 100 km / h) and the fuel consumption is compatible with the adoption of the turbo, thanks to the electronic injection. The gearbox has 5 gears, derived from that of the Fiat Ritmo 105 TC (known as low levers), the braking system is equipped with self-ventilated front disc brakes of 240 mm in diameter and 227 mm full rear discs.
