A fifty-five-year-old bicyclist collided with the side of a VTA bus. His arm was crushed by the rear wheels and his shoulder was dislocated. Despite multiple procedures by a microvascular reconstructive surgical team his arm could not be saved. Amputation and skin grafting followed.
