This sketchbook tour is from a plein air sketchbook completed during a holiday in Finistere, Brittany, France back in the Summer of 1993. At the time, I was working outdoors with soft pastels, coloured pencils, inks and watercolours.
I used an A3 Daler 96gsm smooth paper sketchbook which handled the pastels very well although was probably too lightweight for the watercolour.
I was based in the fishing village of Le Conquet, which I know very well, and I travelled up the coast North towards Landunvez and down along the coast South to St Mathieu.
I set myself the challenge of completing the sketchbook during the three weeks I was there - whatever the weather! 50 pages in rain, sunshine and drizzle.
