The use of the music in this video is for demonstration of the quality of the cassette player only, and is used here under "fair use." The song is Tim Cappello, I Still Believe, played off an old copy of The Lost Boys soundtrack on cassette.

This model is a Kenwood KX-780. Kind of a rare tape deck from around 1985 that I can’t find a ton of information about. I had to spend time restoring this machine. I of course cleaned the tape mechanism thoroughly and demag’d it, but also had to adjust the motor speed, adjust one of the channels playback gain level to match the other, and had to re-solder a broken solder joint in the tape counter display that was causing not all of the vacuum fluorescent number segments to light up. The pinch roller seemed fine after a thorough cleaning, and the belts still seem to have some life left in them too.
