Since 2024, Viennese sausage stands have been part of UNESCO's intangible cultural heritage. They are not just snack stands, but for many a social meeting place and cultural landmark of the city. The tradition of the stalls dates back to the 19th century. Over time, they have evolved to offer other snacks and drinks in addition to sausages. Locals and tourists alike meet here to chat, take a break and enjoy a drink and a bite to eat.
