In this video I tell you about the influential punk rock legend, Lydia Lunch. She was a founder of the No Wave music scene that happened in the late 1970s in NYC that was influential on so many bands to come out of that era including Sonic Youth, Teenage Jesus and the Jerks, Suicide, Alan Vega and Martin Rev, James Chance and the Contortions, and many more. Lydia Lunch is known for her anti-commercial stance to art and music and has released countless records and media, all independently. She has been performing all over the world since she began and inspires audiences with her raw, powerful, and confrontational work that speaks truth to power.
This video is an overview of her life and artistic releases and filled with lots of imagery from her decades of involvement in the underground punk rock music scene. I also show you an interview book by Re/Search (www.researchpubs.com) featuring her in an interview by the great V. Vale, underground music archivist and writer, and read a few passages from that using my 3Dio binaural microphone in soft-spoken style. I hope you join me for a fascinating deep dive into this amazing music icon that too often flies under the radar.
