This song is a personal and intimate tribute to my wife and her battle with sudden ITP—a fight that arrived without warning and took over a year of our lives.
It’s everything I couldn’t say while trying to stay strong: the fear, the helplessness, the love, and the strange humor you cling to when the ground keeps moving. A full year of emotion pressed down into one song, because at some point there were no words left—only sound.
I wrote this while watching someone I love fight for her health, her youth, her work, and the life she loves living. I wasn’t ready to lose any of it. I still’m not.
Musically, this is my own dark, melodic creation—uplifting and heavy at the same time. A place where lament, groove, prayer, and absurd hope can exist together. Sometimes you dance because crying would break you.
If this makes you think of someone you love, or a struggle you’ve carried quietly, then maybe we can be sad and happy together for a moment.
