Rice is Liberia's staple food, and many Liberians in and out of the country feed on it daily for survival. Touring the DAM in the Bong range, Bong Mines City. Before the civil war in Liberia, the Dam was used as a disposal site for the former Bong Mining company (BMC).
After the civil conflict in Liberia, many Liberians saw the site as a source of survival for their family. So they began farming activities at the Dam. Today, the Dam has become a source of survival for residents of Bong Mines city and its surroundings.
