John Lennon's Tittenhurst Park is a historic estate located in Ascot, Berkshire, England, which he purchased in May 1969. The Georgian country house set on 72 acres became a significant site in Beatles history. Lennon, along with Yoko Ono, transformed the estate into a creative retreat where they engaged in various artistic endeavors. Notably, Tittenhurst Park was the backdrop for the filming of the Beatles' "Imagine" music video and the last place where the Beatles were photographed together, in August 1969, before their dissolution.
The house featured a recording studio where Lennon worked on solo projects, including parts of his "Imagine" album. The estate's serene and expansive grounds provided a peaceful setting away from the public eye, reflecting Lennon's desire for privacy and space for artistic exploration during this period of his life. In 1971, Lennon moved to New York, and eventually, the property was sold to fellow musician Ringo Starr. Tittenhurst Park remains a symbol of Lennon's search for artistic autonomy and personal peace.
