In this seminar, Dr Ashfaq Chauhan, Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Australian Institute of Health Innovation, will present his PhD research 'Making it Meaningful: Co-designing an intervention to improve medication safety for people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds accessing cancer services'.
This webinar is hosted by the AIHI Implementation Science Interest Group (ISIG).
Ashfaq will report on the process of using an adapted Experienced-Based Co-Design (EBCD) conducted with culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) consumers and cancer service staff to co-design the ‘Making it Meaningful’(MiM) instrument at a cancer service in Australia.
Ashfaq’s research, with health agency partners in local health districts and state-wide, explores patient safety, change implementation and management, change readiness and commitment amongst healthcare staff, engagement in healthcare for priority population groups, and the implementation of co-designed change in healthcare.
Ashfaq is a Physiotherapist with over 10 years of clinical experience. He has completed Master of Health Management and Master of International Public Health with Academic Excellence from the University of New South Wales.
