ATTEMPT TO MURDER CASE OF PS BURARI, DELHI ARRESTED BY CYBER CELL, CRIME BRANCH

The Cyber Cell of the Crime Branch has arrested a notorious and desperate criminal Sumit @ Inku (aged 20 years) r/o Timarpur, Delhi, who was absconding in an Attempt to Murder case of PS Burari, in which, he along with his two associates had brutally thrashed and stabbed a person in Sant Nagar area. The accused is also previously involved in three cases of heinous nature of PS Timarpur, Delhi

On the intervening night of 21/22 February 2025, a PCR call was received at PS Burari, Delhi, reporting that an individual Prince had been brutally assaulted and stabbed with a sharp-edged weapon by three suspects inside a flat located on Apex Road, Sant Nagar, Delhi. The attackers were too desperate to kill the victim. Accordingly, a case under Section 109(1) BNS, was registered at PS Burari, Delhi and investigation was taken up. During investigation, the identity of accused persons was revealed as Sumit @ Inku, Gaurav and Harsh, who were found absconding.

As part of an ongoing operation to track down wanted criminals, SI Pravesh Kumar Rathi received a secret information that the absconding accused Sumit @ Inku, the main accused wanted in the incident would come near Burari Authority to meet his aide for financial helps.
The information was further developed and a team led by Insp. Vivekanand, comprising of SI Pravesh Kumar Rathi, ASI Kanwarpal, HCs Anuj Kumar, and Vinod was constituted under the supervision of ACP Ramesh Lamba to apprehend the accused. The team laid a trap at expected place of his arrival and the accused Sumit @ Inku was successfully apprehended, while attempting to flee away, sensing the presence of police. During interrogation, he confessed his direct involvement in the incident of attempt to murder. Hence, he was arrested under the appropriate sections of law.

Sumit @ Inku, a high school dropout, initially worked as a waiter. Later, he became involved with criminal elements and developed a drug addiction. In order to fulfill his drug-related desires, he was involved in two criminal cases in 2022. In 2023, he resorted to robbery to sustain his addiction. His criminal activities culminated in a recent attempted murder incident with his associates, Harsh and Gaurav.
During interrogation, he confessed that on 21.02.2025, he, along with his associates Gaurav and Harsh had gone to Prince’s house, where a dispute ensued between them. This led to a violent altercation in which Prince was severely beaten and stabbed in the neck by them. After committing the crime, they all fled the scene.
Concerned authorities have been informed regarding his arrest. Operation of Crime Branch against absconding criminals is going on.
