Expanding Troll – more gas to Europe

Описание: Equinor and its partners are investing just over NOK four billion in a new subsea project that will provide more gas from Troll A and Kollsnes to Europe and activity in the industry.

The TWIN project in the Norwegian North Sea contributes about 11 billion standard cubic meters of gas and the ambition is to start as early as 2028. By simplifying, standardizing and reusing equipment and infrastructure, we reduce both costs and implementation time.

Equinor is Europe's largest supplier of gas to Europe, providing 30 % of the gas needs.

The Troll field contains about 40 % of the total gas reserves on the Norwegian continental shelf and constitutes the cornerstone of Norwegian gas production. Gas from Troll alone meets around 10 % of Europe's gas needs, and annual energy production from the Troll field is equivalent to about three times annual Norwegian hydropower production.
