Do you always say “I agree” in English conversations?
While it’s correct, native speakers actually use many different ways to show agreement, depending on how strongly they feel. Sometimes we agree politely and calmly, sometimes naturally in conversation, and sometimes very enthusiastically.
In this lesson, you’ll learn different ways to agree in English so you can sound more natural and expressive when speaking.
We’ll look at three levels of agreement:
• Reserved agreement – calm and thoughtful
• Natural agreement – common in everyday conversations
• Enthusiastic agreement – strong and energetic
By the end of the video, you’ll have several useful expressions you can use in discussions, conversations, and professional situations.
This video is also a follow-up to my lesson on ways to disagree in English, where I explained how disagreement can sometimes come across as rude if it’s too direct.
