Science and Practice of Strength Training by Zatsiorsky is probably one of the most recognized strength and conditioning books ever. The book is filled with excellent information and explanations behind the concepts.
In this video, I go over and explain my 3 favorite (those I consider most important) concepts:
1) Force-Velocity Relationship
2) Methods of Strength Training (Maximal Effort, Dynamic Effort, Repeated Effort)
3) Delayed Transformation
Obviously there is much more that the book provides, but these three concepts have greatly shaped my thinking of sports performance preparation.
