David Grimes grew up in the mountains of West Virginia, where he was a logger, farmer and part-time pastor until he entered ministry full time 20 years ago. He is currently serving the Snake Spring Valley Church of the Brethren in Everett, PA. David is married to his high school sweetheart, Stephanie. They have two grown daughters, who are married. They also have 5 grandchildren with one on the way. In his spare time, David enjoys reading and attending Chiefs football games when he visits family in Kansas City.

When Dave and Stephanie Grimes responded to the call to pastor SSVCB, they thought they were coming to a congregation who wanted to grow as followers of Jesus and reach their community for Christ. Instead, they found a church that was committed to doing church the way that they had always done it. Their journey is a case study in embracing transformation, first in themselves, then as a church. Now they and the church are working together with God on transforming their community.
