To explore the relationship between the independent variable and dependent variable, the researcher must also identify, address, and take into account the extraneous variables which may affect the research outcomes. Failure to do so may lead to examiners, reviewers, and readers questioning the validity of the research findings and wasting years of a researcher's effort.
In this video, Dr Sam uses examples (which are simple and easy-to-understand for researchers at all levels) to explain the influence Extraneous variables may have on Dependent variables. In doing so, the definition and the meaning of each variable is explained in simple terms.
