Top-down analysis means starting with the big picture and working down to your entry. Weekly for trend, daily for structure, hourly for timing. Each time frame adds context. By the time you reach your entry, you're not guessing—you know exactly where you are in the larger market structure.

I learned this lesson the expensive way. I was buying breakouts at the tops of daily ranges and going long into weekly resistance because I only looked at one chart.
