Описание: COPA (Controlling and Profitability Analysis) extraction is the process of retrieving profitability data from an SAP ERP system for analysis, typically in a business intelligence (BW) system. This involves creating a data source in SAP, activating and replicating it in BW, and then setting up the loading process, which includes initializing a full load and setting up a delta mechanism for ongoing updates. The data comes from various sources like sales, finance, and materials management, integrated into a central "operating concern" in SAP. Key concepts Operating Concern: A central configuration in SAP that acts as the basis for CO-PA profitability analysis, containing characteristics (e.g., customer, product) and value fields (key figures).Costing-Based vs. Accounting-Based: CO-PA can be set up in two ways. A costing-based approach uses separate value fields for each key figure, while an accounting-based approach uses a single value field differentiated by the GL account.Data Integration: CO-PA is unique because it pulls and integrates data from different modules like Sales (SD), Materials Management (MM), and Finance (FI), providing a consolidated view of profitability.Value Types and Versions: Data is categorized by value type (e.g., \(10\) for actual, \(20\) for plan) and version (e.g., \(001\), \(002\)) to distinguish between planned and actual figures.Delta Extraction: To handle large data volumes efficiently, a delta method is used for ongoing extractions. This only pulls new or changed data since the last extraction, rather than a full load every time. Extraction steps (SAP to BW) Create a data source in SAP: Using transaction code KEB0, create the data source in the R/3 system, specifying the operating concern and selecting fields.Activate and replicate the data source: Activate the data source in SAP and then replicate it in your SAP BW system to make it available for use.Set up a target in BW: Create the necessary objects in SAP BW, such as an Info Source and an Info Cube, which will store the data.Map fields: Map the characteristics and key figures from the SAP data source to the corresponding fields in your BW InfoCube.Initialize the delta load: Perform an initial full load to bring in all existing data.Set up and schedule delta loads: Configure the delta mechanism to extract new and changed data automatically and schedule the process to run at regular intervals.Use the extract checker (RSA3): Test the data extraction directly in SAP using transaction RSA3 to ensure the data source is functioning correctly before loading into BW.
