PR Ambassador P. Harish delivered India’s statement at the Open Debate in @unitednations Security Council on Practicing Multilateralism, Reforming and Improving Global Governance.
➡️ Reiterated the call for Security Council reforms.
➡️ Reaffirmed the support for Common African Position.
➡️ Stressed that Global South cannot be short-changed and India and other major players need due representation in UN structures.
➡️ Emphasized the pre-eminent position of the @unitednations General Assembly.
PR alluded to the remarks made by Pakistan at the Debate and highlighted:
➡️ Union Territory of J&K has been, is, and will always be, an integral and inalienable part of India.
➡️ Pakistan’s campaigns of misinformation and disinformation and of lies and falsehoods do not change facts on the ground.
➡️ The people of J&K voted in large numbers last year to choose their government.
➡️ Pakistan is global epicenter of terrorism.
➡️ Supreme irony when Pakistan pats itself on the back as being at the forefront of terrorism.
➡️ India has been a victim of terrorism perpetrated by Pakistan.
➡️ There cannot be any justification for terrorism regardless of its form, type and motive.
➡️ No political grievance can justify terrorism and the UN can make no distinction between good and bad terrorists.
