This brief video is intended to help broaden our understanding of hyaluronic acid and what happens when you dissolve it. I dissolve patients almost every day in my revision practice and it’s been a life saver, but every time I inject I’m well aware of the risks. I’ve seen patients completely devastated from dissolvers causing them to have a type of Dissolver Insuced Dysmorphia. This means that an otherwise normal person suffers a change in their face that they chase incessantly trying to fix. They end up going down a rabbit hole with substantial difficulty fixing it or explaining to doctors what has happened to their face. This is Different than body dysmorphia in that this is acquired. It’s real and it’s almost impossible to fix. Just like liquor, Please use dissolvers responsibly!
