He first reminds them of the command to keep the Sabbath, teaching that even sacred work must not replace obedience to God. Moses then invites everyone whose heart is willing to bring offerings for the construction of the Tabernacle—the dwelling place where God’s presence would be among His people. The Israelites respond with remarkable generosity, bringing gold, silver, fabrics, wood, oil, and precious stones until there is more than enough for the work.

God appoints skilled craftsmen, especially Bezalel and Oholiab, and fills them with wisdom and ability to oversee the construction. The people work together to build the sacred furnishings of the Tabernacle, including the Ark of the Covenant, the table for the bread of the Presence, the golden lampstand, the altars, and the courtyard. This portion shows how the entire community participated in creating a place where God would dwell among them, demonstrating that worship involves willing hearts, generous giving, and faithful obedience to the instructions God has given.
