WHAT IS A LANGUAGE FRIENDLY SCHOOL?
As Dr Jim Cummins said, to ask a student to leave their language at the school door is to deny a part of their identity. Many schools understand that and are trying to make a shift to empower their students. But it can be daunting to make this change. This is where the Language Friendly School comes in. They help schools make the most of their linguistically diverse community and support this change.
Dr Ellen-Rose Kambel, co-founder of the Language Friendly School and Miriam de Oliveira, teacher at the International School of Breda, will explain how they help schools on this journey. If you would like to ask your questions directly to Dr Kambel, join us live.
(If you can’t make it live, don’t worry, you will be able to catch-up later)
