Описание: The KMT party chairperson by-election to choose the next is entering the final countdown with a vote scheduled for Saturday. One candidate, Lee Hsin, proposed the use of i-voting to allow citizens the chance to decide the fate of the party’s alleged ill-gotten assets. Lee believes his opponents in this election are deceiving the public. Acting KMT Chairperson Huang Min-hui said the issue shouldn’t be falsely construed as a matter of transitional justice. Candidate Lee Hsin says the party’s lawful assets should rightfully belong to all KMT party members, while ill-gotten assets should be distributed among the people of Taiwan.Lee HsinKMT Chairperson Candidate We shouldn’t allow party assets to be monopolized by a privileged few at the expense of the party members who have lawfully paid dues for decades. We should also forbid the transfer and hiding of ill gotten party assets to the detriment of all the people of Taiwan.Huang Min-hui Acting KMT Chairperson We don’t want one dime of ill-gotten assets. This matter has already been reviewed during the Chen Shui-bian era.Huang stressed the KMT’s book-keeping can stand up to stringent inspection. We should respect their view but under no circumstances should we use social justice as an excuse to look for faults with the KMT’s assets that don’t exist.The KMT chairperson by-election is set for this Saturday. If any candidate fails to attract a majority of the vote, the top two candidates will square off on Wednesday for a second round of voting.
