In this film I am stamping vegetable tan leather with various metal stamps. I am actually making a little tool bag for my sister, for her lino cutting tools.
I use alphabet stamps, plus some other old stamps that I acquired. In the film I show how to dampen off the leather prior to stamping, so that the stamping impressions stick.
I also give a few tips to ensure you get good results.
You will also see me making up the tool bag, including setting the zip, by using a zipper foot on my sewing machine. I am using the Singer 29k, Singer 201K, and the big Singer 133K.
