In a special report on the deepening aviation crisis, Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu has termed the situation at IndiGo as 'gross mismanagement'. Speaking at Agenda Aaj Tak, the Minister stated that the airline's excuses were 'unacceptable' and confirmed that the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) is monitoring operations round the clock. The transcript highlights that IndiGo CEO Peter Elbers has been summoned by the DGCA for the second time in two days. The crisis, which saw 1,600 flights cancelled on December 5, has led to a 10% curtailment of IndiGo's schedule, reducing daily flights to 1,950. The report also notes that other carriers like SpiceJet are stepping in to fill the void.
