Beware the tides of March!
Join me as we race the tide to walk the amazing shoreline from Kimmeridge Bay to Chapman's Pool, a 4 mile race against the incoming tide to avoid being cut off!
The walk takes us round two 'pinch points' that are under water at higher tides, Clavell's Hard at the western end and Egmont Point at the eastern end, then round the Houns Tout headland with some serious rock hopping and cliff fall dodging to reach Chapman's Pool. Our return journey is via a brand new section of the coast path to reach the top of Houns Tout, then on to Kingston, and Swyre Head where we walk the final section with awesome views over Kimmeridge Bay as we watch the sun set.
This was an awesome walk with some very different views of our amazing and rugged coast on a perfect, sunny winter's day.
HEALTH WARNING - if you are inspired to try this walk, the shoreline section is rugged and rocky, 4 miles long, and with no way out other than at either end. You will need to know the tide times to ensure you walk it during a suitable low tide. The cliffs are also volatile and subject to collapses.
