Daytime running lamps (DRL) (if equipped)
Turns the headlamps on with a reduced output.
To activate:
1.) The key must be in the run position.
2.) The headlamp switch is in the off or position.
3.) The vehicle is not in Park.

Their intended use is not to help driver’s see the road, but to help other motorists, and pedestrians identify an active vehicle.
