Founded as Schick Sunn Classic Pictures in 1971 as a subsidiary of the razor company Schick, the company made speculative documentaries and family-friendly narrative films. The company was one of the first that popularised the Four wall distribution process. In 1980, the company was bought by Taft Broadcasting, and they were folded into Taft Entertainment in 1987.
