I was loosing a lot of coolant because of the immense vacuum in the crankcase due to a bad PCV valve. I think this is my 3rd PCV valve over 60k miles. I’m also on my 2nd oil cooler in 60k miles. But both are cheap aftermarket units.
The current issue arose after I patched up my vacuum hoses. Now that they were tight the vacuum was so great and sucked water into the oil. Especially since the PCV valve was bad.
If you are loosing coolant and there’s no white smoke coming from the tailpipe or difficultly starting(when engine is cold) then you don’t have a head gasket problem, you probably have a PCV or Oil cooler problem.
Use the European coolant or a 60/40 coolant/water mix with cheapo coolant. You would have to mix it yourself which might be a mess it may be better just to buy the European vehicle version.
God bless.
