Lost in Translation: Bridging the Neurotypical–Neurodivergent Communication Gap

Nobody really questions where it came from. Or whose brain it was designed for.

This episode gets into what happens in the gap between that standard and the people it was never built for — the moments where directness gets mistaken for aggression, questions get mistaken for defiance, silence gets mistaken for disengagement. Everyday misreads that quietly shape who gets seen as capable and who doesn't.

Because the communication standard most of us inherited wasn't neutral. It was just never questioned.

When you start to understand the difference between how neurotypical and neurodivergent brains communicate — really understand it — something shifts. The friction makes sense. The assumptions become visible. And what looked like a problem starts to look like exactly what it is: a different kind of thinking that organisations can't afford to keep getting wrong.

This episode is about bridging that gap. Not by getting everyone to communicate the same way — but celebrating that they don't.
