Podampeta is a coastal village in the Ganjam district of Odisha that has become known as a "ghost village" due to severe coastal erosion caused by climate change and aggressive tides. The village, once home to hundreds, has been significantly impacted, with many houses submerged and the rest in a dilapidated state, forcing the relocation of most residents to a new settlement, "New Podampeta".
The remaining villagers face challenges related to livelihoods and a loss of community.
