St. Louis will no longer issue city construction contracts under its Minority and Women Owned Business Enterprise goals due to threats to take back or eliminate federal grant funds to cities that support such programs, Mayor Cara Spencer said in a letter to city residents that was dated Friday.
Spencer said a pause on new construction contracts that were done under the city's M/WBE program would start Monday, Aug. 4.
