Tatsujin/Truxton Arcade vs Mega Drive (Genesis) 1:1:1 Comparison

Описание: Tatsujin (or Truxton in the US) is one of the most popular games of the legendary Shooting Game developer Toaplan for the arcades. But also the wide spread home version for Segas Mega Drive/Genesis has many fans. Its said, that its a kinda 1:1 port with just slightly adjusted graphics and toned down difficulty.

At the Arcades the game is displayed per 3:4 monitors. At home the ratio is of course 4:3, so Toaplan made the playfield at least quadratic and placed the game informations like score, bomb stock and extra lifes on the right side of the now free screen space (its not seen here in my video, it would have made it even wider). But its nevertheless much shorter and so you don't have that much space to react and dodge. But because of the slower bullets and later attacks of some enemies, the game is easier at the first 4 of the 5 stages (even if some safe spots don't work here anymore).
But because of many reasons stage 5 is much harder on the home version.

The three runs are all authentic 1cc's without safe states or other tool assists by myself. The arcade runs are recorded in december 2025 and my Mega Drive run is from mid 2021 and was my first 1cc of all versions. Back then I was very interested to know exactly the differences of the versions so I made this video now I've played and cleared the arcade modes.

Interestingly the home version scrolls a tiny bit slower so its more and more a bit behind. Because of some slowdowns (especial when using the blue lightning weapon on larger enemies) and in a few cases altered level architecture, I now and then stopped the video of the arcade versions to bring the gameplay together again.

It is said that the non-japanese version of Tatsujin (Truxton) in the arcades is on the same high level a little bit easier or at least a little bit different. So I compared these versions here as well. Can you tell the difference?
