It has grown popular as well in the framework of the Movement Culture.
Two elements are key here:
the hand placement. If at first you may want to use both hands to gently reach the floor and perform the rotation required by The Spiral, you want to reach a confortable level where only the opposite hand lands on the floor at first, with the second hand being placed only once you are finishing the twist.
Knee placement. You may want to use the knee of the back leg as a support to decrease the load on your hands as you go down and make the whole motion smoother.
