so, after a year of on-and-off work, coyote is complete. i got the idea for this baby back in late late december of 2024, right when i was finishing up honey i’m home. i started boards in february of ‘25, then periodically went on week-long benders of working on it before tapping out again. I’M TIRED BOSS!

is it even a real animation if it isn’t darkstalker related? i love drawing the royal seawing massacre
this is actually a final for an arts class too! i’m trying to explore using colors to convey tension and atmosphere — i really hope i got that across successfully

so,, i got the idea for this in late 2024 when spotify automatically recommended the song to me since i’d been listening to some of Mako’s stuff on the arcane soundtrack. I originally planned this lineless, yes - but with no color palette! once i started, i saw BlueJump’s version, i immediately knew i HAD to use blue and orange. please go check out their video too!!

if i do a little math i can say that i have around 30-35 hours put into this! it was the bane of my existence for 11 months congratulate me immediately
i edited/animated in alight motion and illustrated in procreate(frame-by-frame was in procreate too) but there are 3 segments where i used toonsquid for its bone rigging features! it was my first time please be patient with me lmao

the song is coyote by Mako (some of the other color palette/vibe inspo is off the music video for this)

I know that a lot of it is still drawings animated but there’s so many and it moves so fast and i DO use FBF that i’m calling it an AMV i don’t care anymore

okay i need a break bro i’ll be back with something significantly smaller than this (or not…. you don’t know. i have a 5 minute one storyboarded wink wink nudge nudge)
