Modi’s Reform Rush | Indian Economy back on Radar: Nuclear, Labour, Insurance, GST, Rural Employment

Описание: The Modi government is in an economic reform rush, with the US-India trade deal in limbo. In the Winter Session of the Parliament, the government introduced a new insurance sector bill raising the FDI limit from 74% to 100%, a new law for nuclear energy (SHANTI Act), a new umbrella law for India's securities market, a new rural employment guarantee law replacing MGNREGA with the new VB-G RAM G Act (Viksit Bharat-Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin)). These come on the back of a revolutionary revamp of India's labour laws, large-scale cuts in GST rates, the aggressive pursuit of Free Trade Agreements (FTA) with different countries, doing away with QCO (Quality Control Orders), decriminalisation of business offences through the 'Jan Vishwas' laws, and income tax relief for the middle class in the FY26 Union Budget.
