For my 50th birthday, we head further North to the L'île d'Oléron, the largest island on the French Atlantic coast.
We head for the village of Boyardville, and the campsite' Les Saumonards', which is just 5 minutes walk from a lovely beach, and a 15 minute walk from the lovely 'Port de Plaisance' Boyardville. I get a lovely birthday beachwalk, despite the weather... and the sun even comes out for a birthday treat... but it's short lived. Long enough for us to explore the port, a bustling place, with many restaurants and eateries open.... even in low season!...before the heavans open! A nice place to visit, with boat trips available to the I'le D'aix and the famous 'Fort Boyard',- visible from the beach!
All in all.... a lovely 50th birthday, (despite the weather!)
