I was super disappointed when the Hanging Lakes hike that everyone was talking about in Colorado required a permit and I missed the deadline to apply, but then I pulled up my Google maps where I save places I want to go and found this nearby.
It was stunning. You gotta go. No permit needed and not too crowded!
We went to Rifle Falls State Park in Colorado and hiked the Coyote Trail which is less than a mile long and weaves through caves, with an upper view point of the falls and a lower one.
