WHERE IS THE NEST? The nest is along the Little Miami National Wild & Scenic River in SW Ohio USA near South Lebanon Ohio on private property. We don't disclose more detail to avoid trespassing and nest disturbance. Thanks for your understanding!
MANY thanks to the Jurgensen Companies, the Oeder Family and for additional funding support by Stuart Weinberg, the Full Circle Foundation and these River Outfitters- Loveland Canoe and Kayak , Scenic River Canoe Excursions , RiversEdge Outfitters , Morgans Riverside Campground & Cabins , Morgan's Canoe and Outdoor Adventures, Hope and Larry Bone, Diane and Brad Knapp, and to the ODNR Division of Wildlife for their excellent guidance, and to PixCams and Haddix Tree Service of Loveland, Ohio ( www.treeserviceloveland.com ) for their tremendous pro bono work in installing the cameras ! The LMC Camera was installed on September 27, 2021.
B&B ID: Bette has what looks like black “eyeliner” along her upper eyes, she’s 25-30% bigger than Baker, she has a more stern look to her eyes, her feathers have varying shades of brown, giving her a mottled color look, her front neckline has a jagged inverted wide u shape. Baker has a softer look to his eyes, his body is more stream-lined looking, his feathers are more even brown colored & a bit darker than Bette’s, his front neckline has an inverted kind of V shape. Baker's beak has a more curved topline to it, Bette's topline of beak is straighter, with hook at end. Watch.this 'side by side' comparison - • Is it BAKER or BETTE?
HOW OLD are Baker and Bette? We believe that they are 15 years old, if not older!
