Stakeholders in Transnzoia county are raising concern over the increasing number of farmers who are now shifting from maize farming to sugarcane production. According to the management of the Kenya Seed Company, the move by a section of farmers in the region regarded as Kenya's food basket will drain the country's food production.
But as Enock Sikolia reports, farmers in the county are blaming the government for not supporting them in cultivation and selling of their maize produce.
