Another big favorite of mine from the great Gene Pitney, the second video of his songs I've done since "Town Without Pity" last year (*refers to an earlier 2016 video of "Town
Without Pity" using educational short drama rather than the newer movie trailer done this year in 2019).
Originally written for Neil Sedaka to record, "It Hurts To Be In Love" was Gene's first MAJOR Beatles-era smash hit. Released in July 1964, it soared to #2 in Canada and to #7 in the US on both Billboard's Hot 100 and the Cash Box Top 100 on October 10, 1964 (Cash Box Date).
