In this video, we will explain the difference and similarity between english sentence structure and hindi sentence structure.
This video will focus only on the simple sentences which includes Subject, Verb and an object.
Difference between English Language Sentence structure vs. Hindi Language Sentence structure.
English is a verb medial language as the object appears after the verb.
Hindi is a verb final language as the verb appears after the object.
English:
Subject-Verb-Object (SVO) Language.
Hindi :
Subject-Object-Verb (SOV) Language
English: Aarav plays cricket. (SVO)
Aarav - Subject
Plays - Verb
Cricket - Object
Hindi : Aarav cricket kheltaa hai. - आरव क्रिकेट खेलता है | (SOV)
Aarav - आरव - Subject
Cricket - क्रिकेट - Object
kheltaa hai - खेलता है - plays - Verb
English: Anisha drinks water. (SVO)
Anisha - Subject
drinks - Verb
water - Object
Hindi : Anisha paanii peetii hai. - अनीषा पानी पीती है | (SOV)
Anisha - अनीषा - Subject
paanii - पानी - Object
peetii hai - पीती है - drinks - Verb
Similarity between English Language Sentence structure & Hindi Language Sentence structure.
This is only possible when the object is dropped from a simple sentence in both the cases.
English:
Subject-Verb (if there is no object)- (SV) Language
Hindi :
Subject- Verb (if there is no object) - (SV) Language
English: Aarav plays. (SV)
Aarav - Subject
Plays - Verb
Hindi : Aarav kheltaa hai. - आरव खेलता है | (SV)
Aarav - आरव - Subject
kheltaa hai - खेलता है - plays - Verb
English: Anisha drinks. (SV)
Anisha - Subject
drinks - Verb
Hindi : Anisha peetii hai. - आरव पीती है | (SV)
Anisha - अनीषा - Subject
peetii hai - पीती है - drinks - Verb
