6 days South to North of the UK - what an adventure! Of all the bikepacking trips I've done, I'm surprised how long it took me to get round to this one. The country I've lived in my whole life. Pretty epic adventure this one, covering on average 200km each day over 6 consecutive days, scaling the nation one pedal stroke at a time.
Why? Well I don't always ride with a reason - it's just something us cyclists do. Pushing limits and building resilience are amongst my favourite things to do on the bike however this trip really had meaning. May this year I caught this nasty virus leaving me bed bound for a month, weak and hardly able to stand. It's our thoughts, our visualisations and the support of those around us that get us through tough times and I imagined scaling the country upon my return to good health SO that's what I did! Huge gratitude for my health, my family, my friends.
Enjoy the journey - it certainly was an epic challenge filled with great views, tough times, magical moments and times of reflection.
