It has been a few weeks so time for a new vlog! The following weeks have been quite interesting, educational, relaxing and exiting. In this vlog I want to take a recap of the highlights that I have encounterd these weeks. This is the first time that I add a little blog in the description of the places that I've visited for you to read!
Boulders Beach: This place was quite interesting. It was so nice and funny that you could experience African pinguins up close, walk and swim with them if you want. The only downpart was that it was quite touristy, so we weren't the only one who wanted a pic with one of these little fellas. Luckily there were plenty.
Simon's Town: It's a small seavillage in the penisula near Cape Town with only 6500 inhabitants and a marine base. The town is perfect to visit one of the souvenir markets and to have lunch.
Cape Point: (As I misinterpreted Cape of Good Hope) The National Park Table Mountain was breath taking, the diverse nature, the ocean, the cliffs, shore's, hills, mountains, dunes and beaches. A perfect opportunity to go for a small hike. The view of Cape Point was amazing, the weather was good and its already one of the highlights I've had during this internship.
Maxonia's Primary School: One of the internship locations of Tobias and I where we give Practical Education (sports) for the children. The school is stationed 15min drive out of Grabouw near Elgin. Most children get brought here by bus or by car, because it's too far to walk. The children behave better overall, but also need their guidance. Most of the children are colloreds and speak at least Afrikaans and half of them speak English as well. It's quite fun to work with these grades.
Elgin Country Club: The Djembé Session was quite fun to do, you could easily see that some are more rhythmical than others, but that didn't suppressed the fun. I already did a Djembe workshop in the past, but for most of the HAN students it was the first time.
Rugbee Match: The rugbee match was quite exiting to visit, since it was my first time to witness such an event. Supporters from both teams were very exited, cheering and shouting. Most of them came by car and were having a braai. The braai (bbq) is really part of the South African culture and is often more delicious than a regular bbq (even for vegetarians). The match was quite intense, as the opponents bump into each other with such force. I would literally die if I would attend such a match.
Over all I had an amazing few weeks, I obviously can't add all events that happend since that would make a 20 long vlog, so I'd rather include the highlights. Till next time!
