In a dramatic turn of events, a groom was arrested just before his wedding ceremony in Bhubaneswar.
The accused, identified as Siddharth Shankar Rath, was arrested by Khandagiri police following allegations of rape made by a young woman.
According to reports, the accused had allegedly established a relationship with the victim earlier, promising to marry her. However, he reportedly did not fulfill the promise and was preparing to marry another woman.
After learning about his upcoming wedding, the victim lodged a complaint at Khandagiri police station. Acting on the complaint, police arrested the accused last night — just before his scheduled wedding.
