"Deep Echo" (Demon) by DangerousROBOT | Geometry Dash 2.2

Описание: "Deep Echo" is another entry to AudieoVisual's sampling creator contest, which ended a few days ago as far as I know. It will be very interesting to see the results soon. This may be one of the coolest entries I've seen, but I believe it may not qualify due to its difficulty. According to the rules, the upper limit for difficulty was Easy Demon, while this is more of a Hard Demon. That's largely due to its length, but also because several parts are a bit unclear, making some memorization required in an already long level. There are also a couple tricky timings here and there, particularly from 3:23 and onwards. I typically don't enjoy beating levels this long to begin with, and when it's at this difficulty too, it's not really my thing to beat. Special thanks to Floppy for recording this for the channel, though, as it deserves all the attention it can get for its overall execution.

I mentioned that this may be the coolest entry for the contest I've seen, which is largely thanks to the visuals and how they progress throughout the duration. It's always leaning into a design style with some art here and there, making me a bit biased since those are my favorite styles, but it's also just done really well. Every part has a unique look with clean designs, decorations, and good color mixing that doesn't repeat from one part to the next. And yet, it all feels very well connected, largely thanks to the incredibly smooth transitions between each part. You'll notice that you keep going further and further down, which is a great use of verticality. The fact that every part is structured like a cave or tunnel also helps to tie things together. So far, I haven't even mentioned the sampling in this, all of which are credited from 4:44. I didn't really notice any samples while playing, which goes to show that they were incorporated really nicely.

All in all, this is a great entry for the contest that I think may have gone a bit too hard in gameplay. If you enjoy challenges that test your endurance, I'd definitely give this a shot in-game. Even though I don't, I personally see this getting a Legendary rating. I haven't heard of DangerousROBOT before now, but I'll definitely be looking out for their future works from now on!
