Exclusive Worship: God demands singular loyalty, stating, "You shall have no other gods before me," and forbids making or worshipping images (Exodus 20:3-5).

A Matter of the Heart: True idolatry isn't just statues; it's anything that captures your heart, imagination, or trust more than God, like greed (covetousness), pride, or worldly desires (Colossians 3:5, Philippians 3:19, 1 John 5:21).

God's Jealousy: The Lord is described as a "jealous God," meaning He won't tolerate His glory being given to idols (Isaiah 42:8).

Consequences: Idolatry leads to spiritual blindness, rebellion, and God's displeasure, as seen in Israel's history (Ezekiel 8:12, Romans 1:21-23).

Transformation: Worshipping false things transforms people to be like them (e.g., the golden calf making Israel "run wild"), while true worship transforms to reflect God's image.
