In this hysterical Cosby Show scene, spring arrives at the Huxtable house — but peace definitely does not. As Clair enjoys the morning breeze and the chirping birds, Cliff bribes them to stay away from his car… until the calm is shattered by Rudy and Olivia’s nonstop upstairs battle.
The “dueling duo” slam doors, hurl insults, and fight so wildly that a chunk of the ceiling literally collapses into the living room. Clair gleefully reminds Cliff that it’s his turn to stay home with the tiny warriors, and leaves him alone to face their destruction.
When Cliff calls the girls downstairs for a “meeting,” he delivers one of the funniest monologues in the series — welcoming them to Hotel Huxtable, where the guests “seem to want to bring the doors in with them every time they close them.” But the girls immediately start blaming each other again, turning even the simple task of sweeping into a full-scale war that ends with a broken flower pot, more yelling, and Cliff begging for sanity.
