In an unofficial biography written by J. Randy Taraborelli, called Becoming Beyonce, claims were made that the famous couple took a nearly year-long break ten years back after rumors surfaced that Jay Z cheated with Rihanna. The false story has now taken a turn for the better, thanks to the author first shedding light on the rumor, which was originally made up by Rihanna’s ex-publicist, Jonathan Hay, who has come forward with an apology.

Jonathan still currently works closely with Bey and Jay’s company TIDAL and in a statement made to the New York Daily News in hopes of keeping good standing with the company has said QUOTE, “I was blindsided by the news of ‘Becoming Beyoncé’ coming out and it couldn’t come at a worse time for me. I’m currently releasing projects with my label Urban Hitchcock through Tidal, a company that is owned by Jay Z and Beyoncé … Hopefully this news hasn’t ruined that relationship for me.”

He also revealed that the stunt was only out of desperation to help break Rihanna’s first single “Pon de Replay” and that QUOTE, “It was reckless and I didn’t think it was going to work. I was just throwing spaghetti at the wall to see what would stick.”

But apparently the rumor did more damage than making a spaghetti stain on the wall… It was also attached to Beyonce, Jay Z and her sister Solange’s infamous elevator incident last year and reports circulated that reason for the blowout was Beyonce forbidding Jay Z to attend Rihanna’s post-Met Gala after party. According to Taraborelli, it was merely a “whispered married couple’s argument” that Solange became protective over.

Neither Bey or Jay have yet to comment on the issue, however, Jonathan has made clear of his disappointment toward himself by concluding the statement saying QUOTE, “I didn’t think it would be this big story. But now, seeing Beyoncé on the cover of this book and knowing that people are profiting from speculations and opinions about her really turns my stomach. I’m ashamed that I’m even talking about this. I just want to put this rumor to rest once and for all.”
